Exoplanets: it was twenty years ago today (almost)
Jean-Baptiste MarquetteInstitut d’Astrophysique de Paris, CNRS/Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Francia
The first exoplanet was discovered in 1995 around the star 51 Peg by Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz, two Swiss astronomers using the 1m93 telescope at the Observatoire de Haute-Provence (France). It will be shown during this talk how the various techniques of detection have revealed, since that pioneering work, planetary systems unexpectedly different from our own Solar one, with a particular emphasis on the method of microlensing events observed towards the Galactic Bulge.
